How to Use AI To Sell Services Like a Pro on Fiverr?

This is the step-by-step process that you need to follow in order to build up your Fiverr profile into a client-closing monster that will come across as an industry expert to every lead that you attract on Fiverr.

Step 1: Become a Seller

Before you can do any of the magic stuff we’ll show below, the first thing you need to do is become a seller.

To do this, go to Fiverr.com and sign in with an account – Create a new one if you don’t already have one. Next, you need to become a seller on this platform. To do this, click on your account icon (top-left corner) and then click on Become a Seller from the context menu that just appeared.

Next, click on the Become a Seller call to action, then hit Continue from the next menu. Go through the onboarding options, then start adding your Name and profile picture.

Now to the interesting part. Below I will share with you how you can optimize your seller account using AI. Before we get started, make sure you sign up for an account on these AI-powered platforms and follow along with me on this tutorial:

  • Jasper: AI content generator and writing assistant
  • Writesonic: AI writer, copywriting, and paraphrasing tool
  • Copy.ai: A marketing copy and content generator
  • ChatGPT: The well-known language model AI chatbot
  • Canva: A drag-and-drop graphic designing toolkit
  • InVideo: An all-in-one video creation and editing tool

Jasper is the platform I will be using in this tutorial, but you can replicate the same concept when using different AI writing tools like Writesonic or Copy.ai.

Now, in order to generate your description efficiently, you can use one of 50+ Jasper’s pre-made templates. The closest ones might be the Product Description Template OR Unique Value Propositions.

You can find it inside Template Library > Product Description. All you need to do is enter the name of your agency, and a short description, and its AI engine will do the rest.

PRO TIP: Did you come across a gig on Fiverr that inspired you? You can also adapt the description of a current seller on Fiverr by using the Content Improver Template.

Step 2: Configure Your Seller Account

With the first step out of the way, the next thing you need to do is customize your profile to make it appealing to your potential buyers.

1. Upload a Profile Picture

Just makes sure you only upload a high-quality portrait of yourself with a solid and clean background. It’s advised to use square images (e.g. 600×600). For that, you can use a free tool called Canva.

2. Add a Profile Bio

Here, you will get the chance to briefly explain what you do and how you can help people. I personally use this as my profile bio: “I help people make extra money by starting and growing online business”.

3. Add a Profile Description

Buyers are also interested in learning about you as a person. So, in this section, you can talk more about yourself, what you do, your hobbies, your biggest value proposition, and most importantly, give buyers a solid reason why they should buy your services.

Here’s my own personal profile description for inspiration:

4. Add The Languages You Speak (Up to 4 Selections)

Fiverr gives buyers the ability to filter sellers by category, expertise, as well as language. So, for a higher reach, you are advised to add all the languages that you will be able to provide proper communications with. For example, if you speak English, Spanish, and French, add all of those languages to your account.

5. Link your Social Accounts

In the next menu, take the time to link all your social accounts. This will allow for easy communication between you and your potential clients. My recommendation is to connect all possible accounts. On top of making you more present on Fiverr, this will also help your organic profile ranking.

6. List Your Skills

In the Skills list, add all your skills and set the appropriate skill level. It’s important not to oversell yourself here. Let your buyers know your skills gained through your previous jobs, hobbies, or even everyday life.

7. Share About Your Education and Certification (If Any)

Although this step is totally optional and won’t affect your orders, it’s always great to share your educational background because it somehow gives you more authority. Describing your educational background will help buyers get to know you while listing your honors and awards can help you stand out from other sellers.

8. Add Your Contact Details

Finally, add your work email and a phone number where you can be contacted. If you don’t want to be bothered with your personal number, you can use a 3rd party phone number provider like Vyke (I talked about it in this article) to get yourself a UK-based phone number.

Once you are ready to go, click on the Save Changes button and go list your first gig.

Step 3: List Your First Gig

As a new seller on Fiverr, you are allowed to list up to 7 different gigs. As your account continues to grow and moves from one level to another, you will be able to list more gigs during that time.

To create your first gig, head over to your Fiverr seller account – My Business, and click on the Create A New Gig green button in the top right.

After hitting that button, you will be taken to a page that’s similar to this one. First off, you need to start with a title for your gig.

Creating Your Gig 1/6: Gig Overview

When it comes to writing a gig title on Fiverr, it’s recommended to keep it below 60 characters for higher chances to be picked by the platform’s search engine.

If you’re not sure what’s the best keyword to target in your gig, head back to your buyer account and try to search for some keywords that are relevant to what you’re selling. Keep an eye on the total gigs offered for that particular keyword.

Ultimately, you need to find keywords that have between 500-3000 results on the platform, because that would indicate that there’s demand for your service already, and you can get the chance to compete too.

You can definitely try to target keywords that yield fewer results, but it all depends on the average order value of your service. Since you’re only allowed to have 7 gigs at the beginning, you need to find that sweet spot that you can compete on so you can get orders and grow your account steadily over time.

After you select your title, the next step would be selecting a category. This is a very straightforward step. You just need to choose the category and sub-category most suitable for your gig.

As for the search tags, these are buzz-words that are relevant to the services you offer, and Fiverr suggests you use all of the 5 tags to get found on the platform. If you are struggling to find relevant keywords for your service, you can leverage ChatGPT or other AI tools to find tens of them.

Creating Your Gig 2/6: Scope & Pricing

Next would be your gig’s scope and pricing. This is arguably the trickiest part of setting up your Fiverr profile. Here’s an example of one of my own video animation gigs:

You’ll need to go ahead and just check the feature boxes included in each package. After doing so, you will be asked to give each package a specific price, starting from $5.

Now, if you’re not sure how to price your gig, you can simply head back to the buyer version in a new tab and have a look at what your competitors are charging. In addition to that, you can ask this bad boy chatbot by Bing to help you reasonably price your gig:

Creating Your Gig 3/6: Description & FAQs

Next would be adding a suitable description for your gig. This is your chance to be creative and explain exactly what’s offered in your gig! You can simply describe what you are offering and be detailed as possible so buyers will be able to understand if this meets their needs.

Your description should be at least 120 characters and a maximum of 1200 characters. Not sure what to write about? You can simply leverage Jasper’s or Writesonic’s “Product Description” pre-made templates to come up with an SEO-optimized description for your gig.

The same goes for Gig’s FAQ. You can simply use Jasper’s template “Engaging Questions” to come up with relevant questions to your gig. It will not only help you find questions but will also help you write engaging yet professional answers too.

Alternatively, you can leverage ChatGPT to come up with potential questions or concerns that your clients might have.

Creating Your Gig 4/6: Requirements

In this section, you can get all the information you need from buyers to get started. You can add questions to help buyers provide you with exactly what you need to start working on their orders.

In my case, I sell custom 3D video animations, so some of the questions that I require buyers to answer are:

  • Give me a brief summary of what your business is all about
  • What’s the purpose of using my videos (engagement or ads)
  • What’s the social media platform you want to use them for

Creating Your Gig 5/6: Gallery

Last but not least, the gallery section allows you to showcase your services in a gig gallery to encourage buyers to choose your gig by featuring a variety of your work.

According to Fiverr, videos can increase user engagement by 40% and usually have higher rankings in the platform’s search engine. However, there are some criteria you should follow when creating your gig video to stay compliant with Fiverr’s gig video policy.

You can use free video editing software like InVideo to create stunning videos in little to no time. By the way, the video in my gig was created by InVideo. Check out the software to create publish-worthy videos on day one!

As for the images, you are allowed to upload up to 3 images that visually showcases your services.

The cool thing is that Fiverr recommends specific dimensions for your images, so no need for any guesswork here. To create your Gig gallery images, you can use any image editing software.

The one that I personally like and use all the time is called Canva. Canva is an all-in-one graphic designing toolkit that will allow you to create images, banners, documents, PDFs, eBooks, and even videos, and a lot more!

To create your images, simply go to Canva.com, create a free account if you haven’t done so already, and head to the Create Design tab in the top right. You can then select a custom size and enter the recommended dimensions by Fiverr.

The cool thing about Canva is that it has a wide range of pre-made templates for all types of visuals, including images. So, you never have to start from scratch!

Creating Your Gig 6/6: Publishing Your Gig

After creating your images, you can then go ahead and upload them to Fiverr and finally publish your gig!

Congrats, your first gig is officially published on the marketplace successfully now, and you can repeat the process for the 6 other available slots. All published gigs will show up in the Business tab under My Gigs.

That’s pretty much it!

Conclusion

Selling services online has become a popular and profitable venture in today’s digital age as the internet provides a vast marketplace where individuals and businesses can connect and engage with customers from around the world.

In this article, I shared with you the exact step-by-step process of using various AI tools and technologies to start selling your services like a PRO on freelance marketplaces like Fiverr.

Using the process shared above, you can create highly-optimized listings on Fiverr for any service you’re planning to sell online, and you can replecate the same process for different platforms like UpWork.

As you could have probably seen, the hardest parts of creating a Fiverr listing (creating titles, descriptions, search tags, listing benefits, the FAQ section and more) can be almost fully automated with AI.
