1. Start Dropshipping

If you have no resources to buy products to sell and have no place to store your inventories, you might want to consider dropshipping. All you need to do is create an online store using your computer and have a basic understanding of online selling.

In dropshipping, you can do online selling without handling the products yourself. You look for a supplier of the product you wish to sell. Once you have found a supplier and closed a deal with them, list the product on your online store at the price you want to sell it.

When a customer orders that product for the price you set in your online store, you will forward the order to your supplier using the latter’s wholesale price. The supplier will have it shipped to your customer on your behalf.

It is quick and easy to start dropshipping. You can invest at a low cost and have access to numerous suppliers.

Also, you are not required to be a business entity to start dropshipping, and you don’t have to think about managing inventory and product delivery. This setup allows you to focus solely on marketing, promoting, and selling your products.

2. Answer Online Surveys

Are you the type of person who likes to answer questions or surveys? Maybe taking an online survey in exchange for money might sound reasonable. Luckily, you can answer an online survey in the comfort of your home during your free time.

While this will not earn you much money, taking online surveys can be a good starting point for making money online without having experience or skills.

Websites that pay people to answer online surveys include:

3. Join Affiliate Marketing Programs

Affiliate marketing is another way to earn money that does not involve prior knowledge or expertise. You only need to join an affiliate program and recommend a product or service by sharing a unique link on your website or social media accounts.

You will earn a commission every time a customer orders a product through that link, at no additional cost to them!

4. Work as a Virtual Assistant

If you dream of a job that will give you modest pay without having to leave your room, you should consider becoming a virtual assistant!

This involves rendering services to clients while you work in the comfort of your home or on the beachside, provided you have a strong internet connection. You also have the option of working full-time or part-time as a virtual assistant.

The tasks a virtual assistant might undertake include:

  • Calendar management
  • Data entry
  • Email management
  • Customer service
  • Social media management, including the creation of graphics and posting to different platforms
  • Content production
  • Administrative tasks
  • Website management
  • Online Marketing

If you have a working knowledge of basic computer applications and communication and organizational skills, which is familiar to almost everyone, you may be able to breeze through this job and earn money online as the tasks do not require extensive expertise.

You can look up virtual assistant jobs on most online job search websites. Payscale has pegged the average hourly salary of a virtual assistant at $16.44. However, depending on the client, virtual assistant jobs can earn as much as $50 an hour.

If you want to learn more about becoming a virtual assistant, here’s a video by The Virtual Savvy founder Abbey Ashley where she discusses the different tasks involved in this job:

5. Take a Transcription Job

Another opportunity to make money online without prior expertise is to become a transcriptionist. Transcription involves converting audio or video files into text.

All you need to become a transcriptionist is listening and typing skills and a working knowledge of grammar. You also need a computer and a reliable internet connection to transcribe.

You may also need speech recognition software and a foot pedal to help you play and pause the audio or video.

TranscribeAnywhere offers comprehensive courses that will help you to get started with general transcription and legal transcription. These courses provide the best training available and can be completed at your own pace.

6. Sell Photos Online

If you are fond of taking photos when you’re on vacation or just randomly taking a snapshot of objects or places that you go to, then selling these pictures online as stock photos can help you earn money.

People usually buy photos online to save time and money for their businesses. They typically go to numerous online platforms to look for the perfect picture for their project or marketing campaign.

You can upload your photos to these online platforms and sell them. These include Alamy, Shutterstock, iStockphoto, Etsy, and 123RF. Once you find your niche or specialty in taking photos, all you have to work on is knowing how to market your images to attract potential buyers.

If you want to learn more about ways to sell your photos online, here’s a YouTube video from Shopify:

There are many opportunities for anyone to earn money online, from selling products to offering your services. Even a simple recommendation about a product can earn you money without actually doing, spending, or knowing anything.

As you can tell, you don’t have to be extremely good at anything to land an online job or side hustle. Your passions and hobbies can even land you a side gig.

A confidence boost in yourself and the desire to learn new skills will help you find the perfect money-making gig you’re looking for!
