Filter by category – First things first, filtering gigs and freelancers by category will allow you to only show people within your required skill set. To narrow down your list further, it’s advised to select a sub-category. For instance, instead of just going with the mobile development broad category, you can select a sub-category of app customization, full app creation, bug fix, etc.
Filter by level – Fiverr has a multiple-level structure, which includes New Seller, Level 1, Level 2, and Top Rated. The seller level is based on their monthly performance. Superb service, high buyer satisfaction, and on-time delivery can lead to a top-level status on Fiverr. So, ultimately, you should try to find reliable sellers with level 1 or 2 at a reasonable price.
Remove gigs that exceed your budget – It makes sense, doesn’t it? You can instantly exclude the gigs that you cannot afford. That would help you narrow down your list further and select a freelancer faster. Alternatively, you can use Fiverr’s budget filter to only show results within your budget.
Pro Verified badge is a plus – Pro Verified sellers are part of a hand-vetted group of professionals. In other words, there are the best of the best! In fact, it highlights the seller’s exceptional skills and symbolizes trust to potential buyers. Pro Verified gigs are usually costlier than the others, but if it’s within your budget, definitely go for it and save yourself a lot of trial and error in the process.
Build your shortlist – Fiverr allows you to organize your go-to freelancers and favorite gigs into custom lists you can easily access and share with your team. So, after filtering gigs by category, level, and budget, you will end up with a list of freelancers that meet your criteria. What you can do next is browse the remaining results and select the heart icon that says (Save to my list) for gigs that stand out for you.
Prepare your requirements on a Google Document – After contacting and hiring hundreds of freelancers on Fiverr, I’m confident to recommend this to you and it’s risk-free, as long as you don’t mention money or try to make a deal outside the Fiverr platform! By sharing a Google doc, you will keep the conversation clean and allow the freelancer to better understand your requirements.
Start approaching the shortlisted sellers – At this point, you know who you should be reaching out to in order to get things done. To get started, introduce yourself, briefly explain what you need help with and request to send your document. The reason you should request approval before sending any documents is that some freelancers are hesitant to open any external links, while others are just too busy to accept any new orders.
